Regulatory Authority
The Arkansas Pipeline Safety Office has regulatory authority over four natural gas distribution utilities, twenty-six intrastate natural gas operators, 163 master meter gas systems (mobile home parks, apartment complexes, housing authorities, etc.), and 6 municipally owned natural gas systems with the duty of ensuring that these pipelines provide safe and adequate. The Pipeline Safety Office is responsible for 1,339 miles of intrastate natural gas transmission and gathering pipelines, 20,315 miles of natural gas distribution mains, and 683,649 natural gas service lines.

The Arkansas Pipeline Safety Office does not have jurisdictional authority for intrastate hazardous liquids pipelines. These lines are jurisdictional to the Pipeline and Hazardous Material Safety Administration.
